SCULPTURES IN THE GARDEN- WOLLONGONG 2023
The art prize Sculptures in The Garden at the Wollongong Botanical Gardens has selected only 25 entries from applications from everywhere around Australia, where I was very excited to know that my sculpture work Harvestmen (ceramic, steel and organic funds) 50x250x45cm 150kg. was amongst the selection for this year’s art prize in Wollongong NSW 18 March – 30 April 2023
The display is our biggest one yet, with 25 thought-provoking sculptures created by local, national and international artists and on exhibition throughout the Garden.
The works will be on display for six weeks, with an engaging program of free events also on offer.
“This will be the fourth “Sculpture in the Garden” event at the Wollongong Botanic Garden and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic experience,’’ Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
“As well as the fascinating mix of sculptures to see, there are workshops, talks, guided walks, music and other events on offer which all add to the experience of viewing the artworks in the Garden. Plus, there is the opportunity to participate in creating a collaborative sculpture using clay and natural materials with Sculptor in Residence Julie Nash. It’s going to be a fun artistic experience involving all ages and skill levels.’’
