The male fertility deity for the Muiscas/Chibchas indigenous civilization during the period of 1000 BCE to 500 CE Bogota, Colombia. Chaquén was revered as the deity who oversaw athletic competitions and also played a role in the cycle of life and growth. Chaquén is credited with the creation of tejo, a game that continues to be popular in Colombia, where players throw metal discs at a target.
